“The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind” ~ Maria Montessori

Montessori Approach
Using Montessori pedagogy, in the infinite pursuit of knowledge, we cultivate harmony and a deep sense of belonging by maintaining a small, peaceful, and purposeful learning environment.

Reading
Our first priority for all of our learners is the assessment of their reading skills and the setting of goals that make sense for that child's reading needs. We are both educated in teaching children to read and we both have our reading endorsements through the State of Florida.

Science
We will cover the following science topics: Earth Science, Solar System, Botany, Animal Science, and the Human Body. We also have science club once each week - where we will participate in experiments that allow for the exploration of the scientific method.

Writing
We believe that learners should be writing daily. Writing has been proven to aid in reading skills acquisition as well as the development of critical thinking skills. Our kids participate in the writing process weekly (prewrite, rough draft, edit, final).

Geography
In Montessori, an emphasis is placed on gaining Geography knowledge. Learners will complete various tasks, which include (but are not limited to) geographic maps (drawing & labeling), capitol city identification, biome exploration, identifying land & water forms, matching flags to countries or states, understanding longitude & latitude.

Mathematics
Montessori math materials are hands-on and didactic. They are intended to create synapses across both sides of children's brains. Because of this, math concepts are mastered more proficiently when students can get their hands involved in their math learning.

Outdoors
We will spend lots of time outside - exploring nature, learning gardening skills and then tending to gardens, participating in various games, reading, or simply free playing.
